THE FOO FIGHTERS HORROR MOVIE: STUDIO 666

STUDIO 666 POSTER – FOO FIGHTERS

Take a break: The Foo Fighters made a horror movie!

It’s still to be seen whether the movie provides a scare, but coming from Foo Fighters, I’m sure the fun is guaranteed.

About the project, Dave Grohl said:

Like most things Foo, Studio 666 began with a far-fetched idea that blossomed into something bigger than we ever imagined possible,” Grohl shared in a statement last November. “Filmed at the same house where we recorded our latest album, Medicine at Midnight (told you that place was haunted!), we wanted to recapture the classic magic that all of our favorite rock-&-roll movies had, but with a twist: Hilarious gore that fucking ROCKS … Be ready to laugh, scream, and headbang in your popcorn. Studio 666 will fuck you up.”

The trailer for “Studio 666” was released last Tuesday, the 11th of January, and the film shows Dave Grohl dominated by evil entities that attack him in a creative block and the band members, while Dave performs in a mysterious way, his bandmates Taylor Hawkins, Nate Mendel, Pat Smear, Chris Shiflett and Rami Jaffee go on a mission to save him. The film’s plot takes place in a haunted mansion, in which the band is gathered for the long-awaited album in preview: Medicine at Midnight.

The cast includes guest appearances by Kerry King (Slayer), Lionel Richie, Whitney Cummings, Leslie Grossman, Will Forte, Jenna Ortega and Jeff Garlin.

Studio 666 is directed by BJ McDonnell and opens in US theaters on February 25th. I can’t wait to watch it, I hope it doesn’t take too long to premiere in Australia.
